What started as me asking Gerrit to make a couple of small changes to the site this weekend became a project that took up most of our Saturday afternoon on the couch. On Friday night, out of nowhere, I suddenly knew what I wanted my new header to look like and what buttons I wanted to add and how I wanted or organize some things around here. And now it’s like I have a whole new site.
So welcome. I’d like to show your around a bit.
1) New side buttons. We decided it was a lot easier to move my links to various pages to the side instead of keeping them at the top. Plus, we like how it looks. So Recipes are over to the side now, along with About and FAQ. You’ll also notice I’ve added a travel page. With our upcoming trip to Italy, plus some weekends away coming up, I wanted to have a place to collect all of these kinds of posts. There is also a links page for some of my favorite blogs to read.
2) Recipe page changes. On the recipe page there are now two new buttons at the top–Recipes by Category and Recipes by Season. I’ve collected some of my favorite recipes and grouped them up. So if you’re looking for an easy weeknight meal or a summertime bbq dish or a perfect fall recipe, head over there.
3) Social media buttons. I’ve been wanted to add these for awhile and finally found some I loved.
4) Categories. There’s now a categories drop down menu below the social media buttons so that you can get to all posts about desserts or poultry or books or travel.
As you poke around the site and see some of the changes, I’d love to know your thoughts (and if you have any trouble navigating to anything in particular). It feels so good to have a site that I’m so much happier with, and I hope that you love it, too.
I love your new look Erin! I have been thinking about doing a remodel as well at my “house”. I’d let you know if there are any issues as I browse around. But nice job!
