Just a typical day at home right now. Tuesday, October 7.
8:00 a.m. I let Evelyn sleep in a little bit later because we had all had a horrible night of sleep the night before. She normally sleeps through the night these days, but Tuesday morning she woke up around 2:30 and wouldn’t go back to sleep for awhile.
After morning diaper change and nursing, I put her in her crib to watch her mobile spin around. She loves this and it guarantees me a few minutes to get ready.
I’ve been trying to figure out Evelyn’s patterns so that we can get on some sort of semi-schedule. Unfortunately she never does the same thing from day to day.
Morning nap for Evelyn means working on the blog and a few other things on my computer for me.

Taking a monthly picture and picking out a bow.

Lunch time. I’ve been trying to get away from my dependence on peanut butter sandwiches. Today it’s grilled cheese with leftover chicken from dinner. Not exactly your picture of health, but at least it’s something different.
After lunch Evelyn went down for a nap, then I tried to take a nap but Evelyn woke up. Finally I was able to get her to sleep enough that I could close my eyes for about an hour, too.

Later afternoon brought on fussiness. Gerrit came home and mowed the lawn and I sat down to see if the piano would make Evelyn stop crying. I pulled out my old hymn book and played melodies for us, which kept us entertained for about a good 30 minutes.

Dinner time. Tonight it’s an easy pasta dish with garlic bread.

To be honest, it was a bit of a rough day. So Gerrit and I decided we deserved some frozen yogurt and a comedy once Evelyn was in bed.

Oh yes, it takes time for a schedule to evolve. Lulu’s 16 months, and it still changes all the time! Beautiful photos!
