Reading…
Cinderella Ate My Daughter by Peggy Orenstein. It’s a book I’m so glad exists because I was never a fan of being a girlie-girl when I was younger and I’m not a fan the preschool princess culture now, so this book is a refreshing read. Up next, the third Neopolitan novel (I’ve loved spreading those out through the whole year).
Eating…
Very simple meals. To say I haven’t had a lot of time to cook recently would be an understatement. I’m hoping though that in the coming weeks and months, I can find my groove in the kitchen again (I kind of feel like it’s been missing since we moved).
Writing…
writing writing. I will say, the decision I made to join a writing group almost a year ago is one of the best decisions I’ve made in recent memory.
Watching…
Veep. Gerrit and I have become obsessed (language warning for those of you who aren’t aware). It is so funny and so smart, and while the first season was good, the second season is better in so many ways. Also This is Us on NBC is so good so far. It is filling the void I’ve felt since Parenthood ended. The first episode had me in the best kind of tears.
Listening…
to fall music (yes, I organize my music in seasonal playlists). And because this also falls in the listening category, Evelyn’s little sentences she is saying all the time now are the most adorable things ever.
Planning…
NOTHING. We have been gone too much in the past month. Just this past weekend we had one wedding out of town and one wedding in town. I’m ready to hang out at home for awhile now with no plans to go anywhere or do much of anything.
Contemplating…
is it ever going to actually cool down this fall? Or are we going to have another warm winter? (I never thought I would be complaining about that possibility…)
Anticipating…
holidays! Election season being over. New Gilmore Girls on Netflix.
