Reading…
the first book in Elena Ferrante’s Neopolitan Series–My Brilliant Friend.  After hearing so much buzz about it when the last book came out last year (and won one of the best books of the year by the New York Times) I was intrigued.  Confession: I had seen these before and avoided them because of the covers.  But the truth is it is fantastic.  It’s a little darker than I expected (but not in a way that turns me off to much), but I am really enjoying it.

Eating…
out a lot.  This is my birthday week, and I’ve played my cards right: I don’t have to cook all week (which can be a relief even though I love to cook).  But the last meal I did cook was for Valentine’s Day: steak au poivre from Shauna Niequist’s Bread and Wine.  It was incredible.

Writing…
other things besides blog posts apparently. ;)

Watching…
Superstore.  Super light and feel good comedy.  You Me and the Apocalypse, which is not as funny as I expected it to be (although it does have it’s moments).  We’ve decided it’s not the type of show we usually watch, but now we are super invested in the plot.

Listening…
to lots of podcasts.  Modern Mrs. Darcy has a new podcast called What Should I Read Next (to add to my already too many podcasts about books and writing I listen to) that I’m enjoying.  To be honest I didn’t love it at first (mostly I think because the same book kept coming up as people’s favorite and it’s a book I don’t really love), but a few more episodes in and I’m a fan.  I’m oddly competitive about it though….books that are already sitting in the queue beside my bed keep being mentioned and I always want to be like No! I’m about to read that and I don’t want people to think I’m reading it just because I listened to this podcast!  Is that weird?  Yes?  Ok…moving on.

Planning…
a surprise trip for Gerrit for his birthday next month!  We really weren’t going to take a trip for his birthday, but when our desire to have a little getaway seemed to coincide with his birthday month, I decided to plan it and make it a surprise (he knows we’re going somewhere, but not where we’re going or what we’re doing).

Contemplating…
getting some of my wisdom teeth taken out.  Thanks, dentist.  (No really, I just changed dentists though and I like my new one a lot better.  So no hard feelings.)

Anticipating…
Spring.  Fuller House coming out on Netflix (Full House was my #1 show obsession as a child).  The aforementioned trip.  My birthday celebrations later this week.
